I live in Block 122, Paya Lebar Way.

Its quite peculiar, how my estate buildings are shaped.

See block 121? That bloody long block, together with my block 122, forms a U-shaped 'wall' of some sort.

Now, the thing is, everyone knows walls 'reflect' sound, producing echos. This U-shaped construct not only produces echos, but AMPLIFIES any sound produced in the carpark that lies between the buildings, in the 'U'.

From bickering couples to angry mothers, kids singing a song or cats having sex (Serious. It doesn't sound very enjoyable though) , you have it all.

Every sound produced, provided that it is loud enough (clear speaking volume) , can be heard crisp in the comfort of my living room. Its not very obvious in the day, but in the dead silence of the night, everything is crystal-clear.

Just 30 minutes ago, a dog was barking non-stop smack in the middle of the carpark. 15 minutes later, apparently somebody living in my block got quite annoyed and started "shh-ing" the dog from his/her room.

"WOOF WOOF WOOF!"
"SHHHHHHH"
"WOOF WOOF WOOF WOOF WOOF!"
"SHHHHHHHHHH"

Loud and clear. All very amusing, I tell you.
